Indore, June 2026:
A significant innovation has emerged from the Incubation Centre of the Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET), DAVV, Indore. Innovator Vijay Soni has developed VKARVE 2.0, an advanced PCB (Printed Circuit Board) manufacturing machine capable of producing customized circuit boards at a fraction of the conventional cost.
Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) form the backbone of modern electronic devices such as laptops, smartphones, smart TVs, robots, and industrial control systems. However, PCB fabrication is often expensive and time-consuming, creating challenges for students, researchers, startups, and innovators working on electronic prototypes.
The newly developed VKARVE 2.0 addresses these challenges by enabling rapid and cost-effective PCB manufacturing. The machine can fabricate PCB designs up to A4 size and supports a wide variety of board shapes, including circular, triangular, and customized geometries. It can process materials such as acrylic, carbon fiber, wood, and aluminum, making it a versatile solution for product development and prototyping.
One of the most remarkable features of VKARVE 2.0 is its ability to reduce PCB production costs dramatically. Circuit boards that may traditionally cost around ₹2,500 can now be manufactured for approximately ₹500, providing substantial savings for innovators and educational institutions. The machine also significantly reduces production time, enabling prototypes to be developed within hours instead of days.
Designed with educational institutions, research laboratories, startups, and makerspaces in mind, the machine operates through computer-controlled design software and eliminates the need for several conventional chemical-based fabrication processes. This not only makes PCB production more accessible but also contributes to a cleaner and more efficient manufacturing workflow.
The innovation highlights the growing culture of research, entrepreneurship, and technological development at IET-DAVV's Incubation Centre, reinforcing the institute’s commitment to nurturing indigenous solutions and supporting India's innovation ecosystem.
